I, Kaye Adams, am the sole founder and C.E.O. of the non-profit “TAKE FIVE SOCIAL CLUB” for those aged 40 and over. Dallas-Ft Worth is the fastest growing Metroplex in the whole USA. It consists of 12 counties with a current population close to 7 million people, and of these 7 million people, a large part of them are the “Over-40” baby boomers who are more lonesome and isolated than ever; and their social life is often limited to their work, family or immediate neighborhood. Part of the reason is because we live in such a youth-oriented society, which makes it difficult for the “Over-40” crowd to meet people in their age group. I also include East Texas and Shreveport, LA as a part of our main target group.   Being a person who passionately loves to have fun and play and laugh with good down-to-earth people, I created TAKE FIVE, which is a well-known expression meaning to take a break from the stress of life for a moment and enjoy. 

I originally had a committee of several individuals and we had our fabulous grand opening Christmas party in 2013. Our downtown Dallas party was a hit with the Dallas legendary jazz singer, Martha Burks, as the star musical entertainer. The idea was to continue having parties and sponsoring various fun events. For a number of reasons, I have since decided to slightly change the concept. Instead of planning and sponsoring lots of events and activities, what we do now is post for others giving these events and encourage all to LIKE and SHARE on Facebook. Most of the posted events provide a commenting space for you to indicate whether or not you will be attending the event, or if you are just interested. It’s extra nice when those attending have an idea of who else is expected to attend. This also gives everyone the opportunity, if desired, to connect with each other in terms of possibly making arrangements to travel together, get seats together or to get together afterwards to meet, mix, mingle and socialize together. I will post based on what I run across in various social events websites, in my Facebook newsfeed, notifications or my Inbox. If I happen to miss your post, feel free to tag me or inbox me, and I will share it to my TAKE FIVE Facebook page if deemed appropriate. Also, if you run across anyone else’s post, I’m sure they would appreciate your LIKING AND SHARING it to the TAKE FIVE SOCIAL CLUB Facebook page…Any member promoting any type of musical activity or event is welcome to post and comments are also welcome under each post.

The TAKE FIVE SOCIAL CLUB’S objective is two-fold: 
1) I have a TAKE FIVE SOCIAL CLUB-Monthly Events Facebook Group page where I let everyone know which events are coming to the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, East Texas and Shreveport area in whichever month is current. If you should decide to join this Facebook Group, please invite your friends to join the group as well. Our event posts include the date, time, venue, ticket sales, website, etc. 

2) I have a TAKE FIVE SOCIAL CLUB Business Page  to help provide publicity for anyone with musical endeavors or certain other types of fun entertainment...WARNING: This page very long because it is loaded with upcoming events throughout the year and info on those in the music industry. Unfortunately, Facebook does not give this page the option of posting according to event dates. It would take hours to scroll that page. That is why I created the TAKE FIVE SOCIAL CLUB-Monthly Events Facebook Group page. So, as of today July 10, 2018, you can see all of the upcoming events for July only. I will delete as each event has occurred. Meantime, I will add August toward the end of the month, then September, etc….

For both Facebook pages, LIKING and SHARING would even be better...ANYONE of any age or geographical area can simply click the LIKE (thumbs-up) button on the page. Once again, the more LIKES for the page, the more publicity and support for the music industry or other types of fun entertainment. Imagine a very talented group coming to your city only to perform to a scanty audience because the word didn’t get around adequately.
